Department of Strategic and Regional Research of University of Economics in Katowice and the city of Radzionków
and Chamber of Commerce are delighted to invite you to a conference
"Local and regional projects - risk management", which will take place on
June 12-13th, 2017 in Radzionków at the Cultural Center Karolinka.
ABOUT CONFERENCE
The conference will focus on the challenges and risks in planning and implementation of development projects at
local and regional level. Every action we take has some risk associated with it. The risk in the case of projects
is much higher than the risk of the implementation of repetitive tasks such as mass production. Implementation of
each project, whose aim is to "create reality (products and services) for which there is no equivalent" by
definition is related to the probability of difficult situations, and sometimes even impossible to predict.
The consequences of such situations can result in significant deviation of reality from expectations. The risk of
deviations can occur during each phase of the project and its source can be varied, ranging from poor work
organization, lack of communication with project stakeholders, improper discern their needs to not complying
with the assumed output parameters.
The conference will feature four plenary sessions. Discussions and deliberations will create a convenient
opportunity to exchange of views and establish contacts with scientists and representatives of the invited
institutions involved in the local and regional development.
